XREAL Introduces 1S AR Glasses With Real-Time 3D Viewing
On 18 December 2025, XREAL announced the release of its latest consumer augmented reality device, the XREAL 1S, expanding the company’s One series with a model aimed primarily at younger users. The new glasses are positioned around the idea of a large-scale portable viewing experience, marketed as a virtual screen equivalent to 500 inches, combined with enhanced spatial stability and real-time two-dimensional to three-dimensional content conversion.
The launch reflects XREAL’s broader vision for the future of personal computing, where eyewear serves as a primary interface rather than a secondary accessory. The company’s development strategy is centred on two technical foundations: spatial display and spatial computing. With the 1S, XREAL has focused on improving long-standing issues related to image drift and latency that have affected earlier generations of AR glasses.
At the core of the device is XREAL’s proprietary X1 spatial computing chip. Designed specifically for spatial display, the X1 enables native three-degrees-of-freedom viewing without the need for external sensors or accessories. This allows digital content to remain anchored in the user’s environment even during head movement. According to the company, the system achieves motion-to-photon latency as low as three milliseconds, contributing to smoother visuals and reduced motion discomfort. The glasses support plug-and-play connectivity across multiple platforms, including iPhones and Windows-based personal computers. When used alongside the optional XREAL Eye module, the system can be expanded to support six-degrees-of-freedom spatial tracking.
One of the most notable features of the XREAL 1S is its system-level real-time 2D-to-3D conversion capability. Unlike earlier approaches that relied on specially produced 3D content or separate applications, the conversion is handled directly by the X1 chip. This allows standard films, games, and other media to be rendered with added depth, creating a more immersive viewing experience without additional setup.
The visual output is delivered through Micro-OLED displays supplied by Sony, offering a resolution of 1200p per eye. The display system has received Five-Star Eye Comfort certification from TÜV Rheinland, reflecting its compliance with recognised visual comfort standards. Light management is handled through three-level electrochromic lenses, enabling users to adjust transparency depending on ambient conditions.
Audio performance is supported by spatial sound technology customised in collaboration with BOSE. From a physical design perspective, the glasses include three-stage adjustable temples and a selection of interchangeable air nose pads in different sizes, allowing for a more personalised fit during extended use.
The XREAL 1S carries an official retail price of 463 US dollars. As part of its launch campaign, XREAL is offering a limited-time discount of 70 dollars for purchases made between 18 December at 14:00 and 22 December at 20:00, reducing the entry price to 393 dollars. Additional promotional incentives include complimentary or discounted prescription lenses and a free quarterly Platinum membership to iQIYI.
The device is being sold through JD.com, with global shipping options and a standard one-year warranty included. With the introduction of the 1S, XREAL continues to position itself as a key player in consumer AR, focusing on practical features that aim to make immersive display technology more accessible for everyday use.
